Western United FC stadium milestone reached

The construction of a new A-League stadium in Tarneit is a step closer to reality, with site investigations wrapping up.

The 15,000 seat state-of-the-art stadium to be home to the A-League’s newest team, Western United FC, is the first of its kind for Australia – in a unique partnership with Wyndham City Council and the Western Melbourne Group.

December marked one year since the FFA announced the club as one of two recipients of a new A-League license. Since, plenty of work has gone on in the background to ensure the site at 1160 Sayers Road is ready.

These works include Geotech reports, soil tests, and flora and fauna analysis – all critical steps before construction can commence. The next phase of the project is preparing planning permissions and work permits, with a goal of turning sod on the stadium by mid-2020.

The stadium and surrounding precinct will be a great asset for the entire community to embrace, and the west more broadly.
